I am The Cowboy Poet
All these poems on this website, really now almost my whole life, have been a journey of my heart. My writing has always been extremely emotional for me. My poems come from somewhere well beyond where I am and have always been much wiser than I ever could
hope to be. I truly feel they are a very special “Godwink” gift I have been given to share for all my life.
I have come to believe I write Heart Words – words from my tender heart that touch your heart. Heart Words describes my ever-so-personal journey.
Years ago, I was reading some of my poetry to a friend. After I read each poem she said “I could have written that”. I felt hurt because I felt like she was saying what I had written did not have much value.
Much later, it dawned on me that she was telling me that the feelings and pictures my poems created for her aligned with her inner spirit. She was saying “I could have written that” –
